But, most of the time, a virtual office is just a fake office that has a virtual phone number that forwards to their real office, and a forwarding company that they use for their local business mailing address. The second type of virtual office sort of does the same thing, but without the physical address. A virtual office has a virtual receptionist who answers the phone and routes calls to the appropriate real phone number. The virtual receptionist can be real, but most often it is an automated routing system from a company like RingCentral, or eVoice, and the system routes the calls based on information you enter into the system through the online interface. Virtual office calls can be routed via a menu system with music on hold and everything else a fortune 500 company would have available through their switchboard. The system can also be set up to then hunt for the person selected through the find-me follow-me system. Once the recipient of the call is found, the person being called has the option of accepting the call, or routing it to voice mail. This is a really cool feature that means you will never miss another important call, nor will you ever again have to talk to someone you don't want to talk to. Sign up for one of the free trials from RingCentral, or eVoice, if you'd like to try out a virtual office.
